Warehouse Extravaganza.

Today I ventured out to the world of vintage wholesale.

I woke up at 6:00 this morning to drive 40 minutes away to a warehouse on 47th avenue. This was NOT that easy for me, taking the baby with, making sure we had everything that we need and that I was ready for what was going to come. I was imagining a running of the brides, a mad dash where everything was gone within 45 seconds. That's not really what happened at all. I joined up with Ashley and Adrianne from GrowOp and we perused through the recycling bins full of dresses, shirts and everything you could imagine. I found a few really great pieces. Ashley and Adrianne, shopping for the store had bag after bag of GOLD. They did so well. It was really fun and something I know that I will do again. Now starts to process of washing, tagging and pricing items. I will have everything out this Friday outside of Butter Toast, so come and check it out if you're in the area!

A big thanks goes out to Molly of Tiedmann's for being so nice today. I got a ton of men's stuff, some really awesome dresses, sandals, and blouses! I had a really good time and can't wait to do it again!

That's right ladies and gents! You'll be able to shop Linen Lovelies pieces and visit me all at one time! I am going to have TONS of new stuff out and I can't wait to share it with you! Come down and visit me outside of Butter Toast anytime! Can't wait to see you!

Weekend and Week Beginning.

Happy Monday everyone!

This weekend didn't turn out exactly how I had planned, but let me tell you all about it. Friday night I went to work as usual, and as soon as I got there I started to feel sick. Josh had come home from work complaining of the same sick feeling, and I figured that I was alright. Friday night we all sat at home not feeling good at all. Saturday morning I felt even worse. I went to work sick, worked all day sick, and instead of going straight to the AZ Blogger Meetup like I had planned, I went home. Wah wahhh. If you went, I'd love to hear all about it!

Sunday, I decided to spend a lot of time outside, soaking up the sun and planting some flowers. We bought Bean a water table and she had a really good time playing in that. The weather has been too cold for a pool, but not too cold for some water play! She had the best time sailing her little boats and helping Mommy water the flowers.

Josh has today and tomorrow off, so we did a little bit of running around today. Went antiquing for a bit (found a really great table and chairs and a little candler chandelier for the patio) and went to lunch at Liberty Market. YUM.

What a great day.

Happy Weekend!

Today I'm loving this little Schoenhut "My First Piano" in pink. What little girl wouldn't just love this?

Hope you have an awesome Friday!

This weekend is going to be pretty busy for The Johnson's! Today, Bean and I are doing a photo shoot for Boon's sister company! Saturday, I'm off to the AZ Blogger Meetup for most of the day. I'm really looking forward to meeting some new people and learning a lot. I'll do a full re-cap next week of our adventures! In the mean time, have the best weekend!

LOVING LOVING LOVING the new vintage inspired bikes from CB2! What a great summer bike!

100 Degree Hair.

I announced that I was growing my hair out a longggg time ago. I'm not even quite sure how long ago it was, but it's been a while. Now that summer is quickly approaching us in Arizona, shoulder length hair is not meant to ever be worn down until maybe October. I grew my bangs out so that they could be side swept so they won't stick to my forehead. (Gross, but real life here.)

Here are some summer braid hairstyles that I will be sporting sooner than later...

Have you ever had to plan your hairstyles around the seasons? Have any ideas for cute hair that I could have this summer? Show me your ideas!!

Best Weekend Ever.

Holy moly did I have a good weekend. Let me tell you all about it....

I think I talked about it for a week straight, but on Saturday and Sunday (today) I participated in this year's Art Detour. One of my very favorite stores in downtown Phoenix, Butter Toast Boutique and their neighbors, GrowOp allowed me to be a part of their patio vendor list. It was wonderful for one of the owners to know who I was and all about Bean and Josh. Super flattering, and really exciting! Pre-Art Detour was chock-full of shopping, tagging, pricing, doing inventory, etc. Linen Lovelies was ON.

The weekend was very successful and I made several new friends and a LOT of great connections! I will announce those sooner than later, friends. I will leave you with some photos of this weekend's Art Detour. Thank you Traci and Jasmine from Butter Toast and Josh, Ashley and others at GrowOp! You made this weekend so fun for me!

(Britt's amazing dress she found at GrowOp for $5 bucks!)

Thanks to everyone who came down and helped/supported! You guys really are the best!!

Bad Habits.

In the spirit of blogging, I found this little tidbit from Design Sponge that I'd like to share with you all. This round-a-bout series of questions should make us all stop and think about proper image crediting. Back in the day, I really didn't understand how big of a deal this was (doesn't seem like it, but it is). At this years Alt Summit, the Biz Ladies as they are called, created the Blogging Etiquette Panel. Just the proper forum for some serious lesson learning. They covered photo crediting in depth and I think that we ALL can learn from this, don't you?

Yvetta Boven, Pia and Erin are whom I credit for the following very funny and quite serious image:

St. Paddy's!

I haven't put my green on yet today, but here are some really fun ways to incorporate the celebrated color of the Irish into your day!

Watch out for those pinches today and be safe!!!

Busy B.

I love when I am working for a purpose. When I do homework, I'm working towards finishing a class with a good grade. When I'm coloring with Bean I'm working on her hand to eye coordination. When I am thrifting, I am working towards making a dream come true. It's the most fun of all!

This weekend with the Art Detour coming up, I've been pretty busy getting everything ready. Tagging, pricing, listing, stamping, bagging...you name it it's been going on here. I'd hate to say that I am not excited, but I'm thrilled! I can't wait to meet people, share my passion with them and get myself out there. What a blast it's going to be!

Seriously, come down and say hi if you can. It's going to be really fun.

PROMISE.

It's a Start...

Hi friends!

I got some really exciting new this past Friday that I am so thrilled to share with you. I am a vendor at this year's Art Detour in downtown Phoenix!!! If you know your downtown vintage the lovely duo from Butter Toast Boutique and a local artist-run boutique called GrowOp are putting this amazing event on. It is this upcoming Saturday (10-6) and Sunday (12-5). Local musicians, artists and clothing vendors will be on hand for your browsing/listening/shopping needs. I couldn't be more excited about this and really hope you come down and see us both days!

In preparation, I went out and purchased a LOT more summer pieces and several more accessories. Whatever doesn't get sold this weekend will be put up in my Etsy store very soon!

I look forward to seeing you this weekend!!!

Write-Up.

Have any of you ever read any of Emily Chalmers's books before? She's the genius behind "Flea Market Style," "Modern Vintage Style," and "Cheap Chic" just to name a few. I haven't actually read any of her books, but really loved the images that I was seeing of her work. She really knows her stuff and I am a fan.

I am drooling over the images and cannot wait to order/find some of her books. Her design is effortless and simple, but like most people, we have no clue how to make it our own. One of my very favorite things about designing a room, a bathroom, a table, whatever is that you can always find inspiration and make it your own. Emily Chalmers is front-runner in my book (or lack of book). She's the author, not me guys.  If you can't order her book(s) (which you can find HERE) at least check out some of her design. If you like flea market, vintage, ecletic style, you are going to dig her stuff. I do, and doesn't that say enough?

Annie Photo Shoot.

Just a little sneak peak...

Yesterday we took photos with our very talented friend Chris Ward from CWard Photography. Josh surprised me with a photo shoot for our 2 year wedding anniversary, and yesterday we were off to ASU to have some fun in front of the camera lens.

AZ Blogger Meetup

I will be attending the Arizona Blogger Meetup on March 26th! I am SO very excited to finally get to one of these meetups! I am so eager to learn, to share stories and to listen to some of the women that I admire and look to for inspiration. This is an OPEN event, and any blogger can attend!

I have RSVP'd, and you can do so too right here.

Hope to see you there!!!

Inked Up.

Sometimes Sweet, one of my very favorites has an awesome weekly write-up that I absolutely adore. Being a woman with tattoos, her Tattoo Tuesday is just perfect!

She picks an individual, writes about the story behind the tattoo, the shop they received it at and any other tattoos that they have and would like to share. I'd secretly love to be featured in her weekly feature. One can wish, can't they?

Summertime.

I hate/love summer. We have a weird relationship.

I hate the heat here in Arizona. It's just way too frickin' hot. Why would anyone like hanging out in 120 degree weather? But I do love the mentality that summer brings. Swimming, margaritas, sunshine; it's just way too much fun. Dressing for summer is also a challenge here, but I love to rise to that challenge. For you guys, I've picked out some of my "must haves" for Summer 2011.

(shorts from Anthropologie)
(50's inspired one-piece via ModCloth)
(Lacy Button Dress from Anthropologie)
(GREAT dress via Orla Kiely)
(Mirrored Waves top via Anthropologie)
(Layered Tunic Dress via Free People)
(Eyelet top via Free People)
(Scalloped short from TopShop)
(Romper via TopShop)
I LOVE these vintage inspired looks for summer! I really like that one-piece bathing suits are making a comeback as well! Summer fashion is here with a fury in 2011 and I can't wait to take my favorite looks and find their look-a-likes thrifting or vintage shopping!
What are some of your defaults for summer? I'd love to hear about them!
